Por razones puramente políticas, España se vio forzada al abandono de sus territorios en el Sahara. El artículo muestra que, considerando su situación interna y la postura tomada por ciertos países occidentales, aquella decisión pudo ser la correcta, ya que España no habría tenido nada que ganar en una posible confrontación armada con el Reino de Marruecos.Spain was forced to abandon his possessions in the Sahara strictly for political reasons. The article shows that, considering the internal situation at that time, and the position taken by several Western countries, that decision could have been correct, for Spain had nothing to gain from a potential armored confrontation with the Kingdom of Morocco
