I romanzi cavallereschi spagnoli raggiunsero un notevole successo commerciale durante il Cinquecento, malgrado per molto tempo furono ritenuti una moda letteraria priva di originalità. Sulla scia della moderna rivalutazione del genere, che negli ultimi trent’anni ha catturato l’interesse della critica, il presente lavoro offre l’edizione e lo studio del Florisel de Niquea (prima e seconda parte, Valladolid, 1532), romanzo cavalleresco dell’autore Feliciano de Silva (ca.1490-1558), uno degli scrittori più decisivi per l’affermazione dei libros de caballerías.
