Non-communicable diseases are now the leading causes of morbidity and mortality in the United States. These non-communicable diseases are primarily influenced by sustainable health behaviors such as eating, exercise, and substance use. In order for patients to be held accountable for their health behavior, they must be properly educated on the relationship between behavior and disease prevention. The investment in primary and second-ary health education should be a top strategy in decreasing the incidence of chronic diseases and health care spending in the United States
