Impacts of Inclusion in Early Childhood Settings

ABSTRACT This research project was developed to identify the impacts of inclusion in preschool settings for children with and without disabilities. Specifically, the interactions and the learning environment for all children. The results of this project indicate that inclusive preschool settings are effective for positive social interactions and learning in the preschool environment. The preschool children were able to learn to their highest potential a majority of the time in the inclusive learning environment. The preschool children felt success in their learning and had positive peer relationships. A majority of the children surveyed that they liked coming to preschool and liked playing with their friends. The children felt they learned a lot from their teachers and that their peers were fun to learn with in the inclusive preschool setting
