By creating new products, improving existing products, and making manufacturing processes more efficient, new technologies can improve our standardof- living and create or save millions of jobs. But building a better mousetrap is not enough; just as we need a infrastructure of highways, railroads, and bridges to move goods in this country, we also need an infrastructure of technical information and business assistance centers to move technology from the laboratory to the marketplace.
