If cattle are retained to a slaughter weight, does marketing method affect profit? The answers are based on 1) relative prices of calves, feeders, and fed cattle, 2) impact of genetic differences in cattle on profitability in various retained ownership programs, and 3) the effect of marketing method on profits for various types of cattle
