The examinations on early damage on the skeleton were carried out in the proximal fibia metaphysis of rats and mice after incorporation of 224Ra. In addition to the conventional histological examinations, enzyme-histochemical, electrone-microscopic, and autoradiographical methods of examination were applied. The results are briefly shown. The examinations concerning the question of delayed damage were mainly carried out on female NMRI-mice which had been administered intraperitoneally 1.cal, electrone-microscopic, and autoradiographical methods of examination were applied.
