Using the torso as the dominant point of departure, my primary aspiration in three-dimensional ceramic form is to create a somewhat delusionary, fantasy-like style. The torso parts are seen to me as surfacing out of forms combined with artifacts of life, such as recognizable bits of words, flowers, leaves, scratchings, coils and construction marks. Superimpositions crowd the surface creating patterns repeated with less than precise regularity. The surface tension created can best be compared to a caldron containing all of these materials slow y boiling to the outside, all struggling for dominance.
