2018 Law Review Symposium: Health Law

The Liberty University Law Review is proud to host its Eleventh Annual Symposium. This year’s symposium focuses on health law and the growing developments in that field. The speakers explain how the law has evolved in recent years to accommodate scientific and medical advancements as well as increased regulations in the healthcare industry. Examples of laws that the speakers address include medical malpractice laws and the Federal Rules of Evidence. Liberty University School of Law is excited to welcome legal scholars, practitioners, and public policy experts who are widely recognized for their legal and policy efforts on this topic and related issues. Health law has become particularly relevant in recent years and is poised to become even more so with the Supreme Court’s continuing interest in topics relating to healthcare. The Symposium focuses on various topics related to health law, including medical malpractice, health insurance, Medicare and Medicaid, policies of hospitals and nursing homes, FDA enforcement, medical ethics, HIPAA, and other similar subjects. Leading scholars address fundamental questions about health law, including how healthcare was, is, and should be administered. They also provide insights into the regulations of the healthcare industry, how the modern administrative state affects healthcare providers, and recommendations for the future evolution of this regulated field.
