Bird conservation and biodiversity research in Mexico: status and priorities

This avifauna, nonetheless, has suffered considerable losses as a consequence of long-term, intensive human activity across the landscape. We review what is known about the Mexican avifauna, specifically its diversity and endemism, and how that knowledge has and has not turned into effective conservation measures to assure the long-term integrity of the avifauna
