The German National Library of Medicine (ZB MED) has a long track record providing search portals for life sciences. In 2015 LIVIVO was introduced as a new product, which database covers ZB MED's entire range of subjects: medicine, health, nutrition, environment and agriculture.Initially LIVIVO's development aimed at realizing a modern search engine combining the functionalities of the predecessor portals. An entirely new web interface was developed, driven by a highly improved usability and a responsive web design.
