Die stark steigende Zahl von Stromrichtern im Energieversorgungsnetz und von Hochspannungs-Gleichstrom-Übertragungssystemen (HGÜ) stellt neue Herausforderungen. Besonders relevant ist das erhöhte Instabilitätsriskio, welches durch die Dominanz der Stromrichter und die deren Interaktion bedingt wird. Außerdem stellen im HGÜ-Bereich und bei Hochspannungs-Netzkurzkupplungen immer häufiger eingesetzte modulare Mehrpunktstromrichter (MMC) durch die hohe Komplexität neue Anforderungen an die Regelung sowie die Leistungsfähigkeit von Simulationstools.
