The article offers a reading of two works by Polish author Marian Pankowski, Putto and Ksiądz Helena, concentrating on the construction of otherness. It identifies the gender aspects of main character’s specificity and identity, embraces postsecular and ethical issues as well as invites a more open interpretation.
