Five replicate cultures of GFP-positive Vibrio ZWU0020 pomAB merodiploids were grown overnight in LB without antibiotic selection. Serial dilutions of each culture were plated on TSA at a density that allowed discrete colonies to form. The frequency at which colonies contained detectable loss of GFP expression was determined by visually inspecting plates using a fluorescence stereomicroscope. Plotted is the distribution of frequencies across all replicate cultures of colonies with complete GFP loss or partial GFP loss. Bars represent median frequency and interquartile range.
