Emily Nowak, Director of Nurse Educator Concentration and Associate Professor of Nursing was awarded $56,889 by the HRSA to support the Nurse Faculty Loan Project. The purpose of the NFLP program is to increase the number of qualified nursing faculty, particularly faculty from underrepresented populations in nursing. Objectives associated with this goal for SCU include: Provide sustained support for current NLFP enrolled students through graduation from their program of study. Enroll 10 additional NLFP students, at least 5 of whom intend to graduate from the DNP program. By 2018, graduate at least 6 additional nurse educators from populations underrepresented in nursing education
