La phospholipase D (PLD) hydrolyse la phosphatidylcholine des membranes cellulaires, libérant le messager acide phosphatidique. La capacité de la PLD à influer sur la voie de signalisation de mTOR, acteur central dans le contrôle du tissu musculaire, nous a incités à étudier son rôle dans ce tissu. Mes travaux de thèse ont pour but d'étudier les mécanismes par lesquels la PLD intervient dans la différenciation myogénique et dans la régulation de la masse musculaire.
