Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı submaksimal aerobik ve dirençli egzersizlerin plazma homosistein (Hcy) düzeyi ve diğer kardiyovasküler hastalık riskleri üzerindeki kronik etkilerini karşılaştırmaktı. Gereç ve yöntemler: Yaş ortalaması 21.68±1.38 yıl olan 38 birey çalışmaya alındı. Bireyler dirençli egzersiz grubu (n=13), aerobik egzersiz grubu (n=13) ve kontrol grubu olmak üzere 3 gruba ayrıldı. Egzersizler haftada 4 gün 12 hafta süreyle yapıldı. Kontrol grubu (n=12) egzersiz yapmadı. Egzersiz öncesinde ve 12.haftanın sonundaæ kan analizleri (plazma Hcy, vitamin ve lipit düzeyleri), antropometrik ölçümler (bel çevresi, bel-kalça oranı) yapıldı ve maksimum aerobik kapasite değerlendirildi.
