This paper presents the social mapping experience implemented by Universidad del Pacifico in the lowwater area on the Island of Cascajal in Buenaventura for the purpose of providing coaching to the communities in districts 2, 3, 4, and 5 with the urban relocation process that has been in progress. It identifies the contribution of participatory action research (PAR) to the communities in terms of giving visibility to their cultural customs. The contents of this research report underline the importance of the pedagogical process that results from exploring the territory.
