Stereotipi o ženama u Disneyevim animiranim filmovima

The modern world is leaning more and more towards the equality of rights between men and women, taking the emphasis off the traditional gender roles, however, gender stereotyping is still present in mass media and therefore hampers the achievement of gender equality. In order to shed a light on this issue, this bachelor thesis deals with the representations of women and gender stereotypes aimed towards women in the media, especially in animated films released by The Walt Disney Studios. On the whole, this gender inequality is quite prominent in Disney’s films, especially the ones from the earlier periods of production and, even though many milestones have been made, certain traces of it can still be found even among more recent films. The animated films put under the scope of this work include Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937), Mulan (1998) and Brave (2012).Suvremeni svijet sve više teži prema ravnopravnosti muškaraca i žena, s naglaskom na njihove tradicionalne rodne uloge, međutim stereotipizacija spolova još uvijek je prisutna u masovnim medijima i stoga sputava postizanje ravnopravnosti spolova. Da bismo rasvijetlili ovo pitanje, ovaj završni rad bavi se prikazima žena i rodnih stereotipa usmjerenih prema ženama u medijima, posebno u animiranim filmovima koje je objavio The Walt Disney Studios. U načelu, ova nejednakost spolova je izražena u Disneyjevim filmovima, posebice onima iz ranijih razdoblja proizvodnje te, iako je došlo do mnogih pomaka, neki od njih još se mogu naći čak i među novijim filmovima. Animirani filmovi obrađeni u ovom radu uključuju filmove Snjeguljica i sedam patuljaka (1937), Mulan (1998) i Merida Hrabra (2012)
