Conflicts in police service: police officers emotions

The article aims to identify that the police officers are most often found in the expression of emotions when dealing with conflict situations. Analyzing the causes of these conflicts there are possible solutions. The survey data helped to determine in which service areas are the most conflicts between the officer and the detainees, which persons usually cause to arise the conflict, why do these conflicts occur, what are the emotions the officer feels during the conflict, what actions officers usually use to resolve conflicts. We believe that the most conflicts could be resolved positively (without using mental or physical abuse), for example if the aggressive drunk man is faced, a positive persuasion is mostly ineffective. In these cases the officers got to use the physical violence. In addition, when dealing with such kind of persons, a positive decision within the conflict could be difficult to make, because of the negative emotions such as: anger, rage, anxiety and fear. Analizuojamos šių konfliktų prieţastys ir galimi sprendimo būdai. Tyrimo metu gauti duomenys leido nustatyti kokiose tarnybos vietose daţniausiai kyla konfliktai tarp pareigūno ir sulaikomų asmenų, kokie asmenys daţniausiai sukelia konfliktą, dėl ko šie konfliktai atsiranda, kokias emocijas jaučia pareigūnas konflikto metu, kokiomis priemonėmis pareigūnams tenka daţniausiai spręsti konfliktus. Manome, kad daugelį kilusių konfliktų galima išspręsti pozityviom priemonėm (nenaudojant psichinės ar fizinės prievartos), tačiau susidūrus su agresyviai nusiteikusiu neblaiviu ţmogumi, pozityvios įtikinimo priemonės daţnai būna neveiksmingos. Tais atvejais pareigūnams tenka naudoti fizinę prievartą.
