Activities for International Understanding and Cooperation in Youth Groups : \u27Development Education\u27 and \u27International Education\u27 in Japan

Youth organizations and groups have been doing activities for international understanding and cooperation such as exchange programmes with Asian youth, campaign for \u27Save Refugees\u27, or consumers\u27 movement on Mindanao bananas. In this paper we analize these international activities in the view of Development Education\u27 and \u27International Education\u27. These educational concepts were proposed in early 1970\u27s, and they focused on the study of under-development. We will make some propositions for Development Education practices in-and-out-of-school education in Japan
