In this article, Ekaterina Sergeeva (Justus Liebig University Giessen, Germany) analyses the lexical and stylistic characteristics of translations of essays by Stefan Zweig into Russian. The primary focus is upon the process of metaphorisation, which is understood in the text as a sort of individual, neological word formation. The article explores the ways in which stylistic connotations can be translated from one language into another under the influence of a particular context. Implicit connotations play an important role in the creation of metaphors in belletristic literature.
