In the International and European context of gender non-discrimination, the framework law 27th June 2014 nr. 6 of Emilia-Romagna Region is the first Italian law which systematically deals with this topic. Meaningful provisions on “traditional” issues connected with gender discrimination are set forth (such as male violence against women and labor issues), as well as “new” provisions on “innovative” matters (from stereotypes to gender medicine). This article describes the framework law contents, considering also some unaddressed issues to be overcome at a national level
