The effect of stacking sequence and hybridization on the tensile and flexural properties of composite laminates between basalt, jute and flax with E-glass reinforced epoxy has been investigated experimentally. It was found that the stacking sequence has a limited significance over tensile properties, whereas flexural strength and modulus appeared to change considerably between sandwich-like and intercalation hybrid sequences. Specific modulus measurements based on the different densities of the various hybrid laminates produced were used to discover the best combination either basalt, jute or flax with E-glass exhibits superior properties concerning on the strength to weight-ratio.
