El pensamiento estratégico postmodernista

The postmodernism has become a theme of study related to different areas of human knowledge. This paper discusses the most relevant characteristics of management and strategic thought that are expressed under the optic of postmodernism. Through a bibliographic review the many definitions and concepts of modernism and the postmodernism are reviewed, as well as how the strategic though is understood under this optic. An thorough review is made of diverse authors and their particularities and visions in identifying modernism and postmodernism. In the same way the strategic though is analyzed as a function of human beings. The conclusion is that strategic thought does not accept any particular historic location and the manager must understand y be prepared to act in the face of post-modern conditions characterized by uncertainty, ephemeralness , uncertainty chaos.El postmodernismo se ha convertido en un tema de estudio vinculado a las diferentes áreas del conocimiento humano. Con este trabajo se pretende discutir las características mas resaltantes que expresa la gerencia y el pensamiento estraté- gico bajo la óptica de lo que se entiende como postmodernismo. A través de una revisión bibliográfica se presentan las diferentes definiciones y conceptualizaciones del modernismo y el postmodernismo y de cómo se entiende el pensamiento estratégico a la luz de éstas. Se hace una revisión exhaustiva de diversos autores y se comparan las diferentes visiones y particularidades que identifican al modernismo y al postmodernismo. Igualmente se analiza el pensar estratégicamente como una función del ser humano. Se concluye que el pensamiento estratégico no acepta ubicación histórica en particular y que el gerente debe entender y estar preparado para actuar frente a una condición posmodernista caracterizada por la incertidumbre, lo efímero y el desorden
