Stressors in education

5 Abstract Childhood and adolescence is no longer perceived as worriless period of life as it was in past years. This may be caused by increasing demands on individuals in school environment. The bachelor thesis points to school stress factors which cause stress reaction and may have negative impact on school success and well-being of students based on mostly foreign research studies. Long-lasting psychological distress may have negative health and psychological effect on children and adolescent especially when they do not know adequate coping strategies. Interaction and performance stressors belongs to the most intensive subcategory of school stress. The aim of the research study is to gain more empirical information about relationship between the effect of such significant school stressor such as oral examination of student in front of schoolboard and current emotional state and performance in mathematical exercise.
