Bibliometric analysis of publications on wine tourism in the databases Scopus and WoS

El objetivo de este estudio fue mostrar el estado actual de la investigación científica sobre el turismo del vino, comparando las plataformas de información científica WoS y Scopus y aplicando métodos cuantitativos. Para ello, se realizó un estudio bibliométrico de las publicaciones indexadas en WoS y Scopus, analizando la correlación entre aumentos, cobertura, superposición, dispersión y concentración de documentos. Durante el proceso de búsqueda, se obtuvieron un conjunto de 238 artículos y 122 revistas diferentes. Sobre la base de los resultados del estudio comparativo, llegamos a la conclusión de que las bases de datos de WoS y Scopus difieren en el alcance, el volumen de datos y las políticas de cobertura con un alto grado de fuentes y artículos únicos, lo que resulta ambos complementarios y no mutuamente excluyentes. Scopus cubre mejor el área del turismo del vino, al incluir un mayor número de revistas, documentos y firmas.The aim of this study was to show the current state of scientific research regarding wine tourism, by comparing the platforms of scientific information WoS and Scopus and applying quantitative methods. For this purpose, a bibliometric study of the publications indexed in WoS and Scopus was conducted, analyzing the correlation between increases, coverage, overlap, dispersion and concentration of documents. During the search process, a set of 238 articles and 122 different journals were obtained. Based on the results of the comparative study, we conclude that WoS and Scopus databases differ in scope, data volume and coverage policies with a high degree of unique sources and articles, resulting both of them complementary and not mutually exclusive. Scopus covers the area of wine tourism better, by including a greater number of journals, papers and signatures.peerReviewe
