Challenges of failed marriages and the implications for delinquency

The study investigates the challenges of failed marriages and their implications for delinquency. The design of the study was a survey; purposive and snowballing sampling techniques were used to select 130 respondents. Triangulation of in-depth interviews and questionnaires were used as a framework for collecting information. Findings showed that there is a relationship between partners’ experiences in failed marriages and delinquent behavior such as truancy, bullying, and children being out of parental control. It was established that infidelity and avoiding responsibility are the major factors responsible for failed marriages. Based on the findings, the study reinforces the claim that communication is an important element of a successful marriage. A marriage that involves too much blame, conflict, and verbal attacks keeps children away from home.
