The article contains consideration on changes of ways to create pictures of East in Polish literature after the second World War. In the 80s of the twentieth century writers start breaking stereotypes with assitance of intertextuality and subjectivization (e.g. Zostało z uczty bogów by Igor Newerly, Stankiewicz. Powrót by Eustachy Rylski, Drabina Jakubowa by Władysław Terlecki).
