A utilização de equipamentos e sistemas por pessoas com deficiência visual

Inclusive design, a thematic for many years explored, but yet, little implemented on a daily basis, as is the case of household appliances. In order to counteract this, the inclusive design criteria will be used to develop a conscious and truly inclusive response. For a consolidation of the theoretical basis, a review of related topics and themes was done, such as inclusive, universal and user-centered design. As well as its principles and how they should be applied. With regard to the complexity of what is visual impairment, it was also necessary to understand what it really represents, how it conditions and what are the abilities of individuals that suffer from this condition. As a way to better understand people with visual impairments, their concerns and needs were apprehended and registered. Aiming the objective, it was made a user’s approach and, with them, talked and discussed personal experiences and practices from day to day. The goal is to create products that are accessible to visually impaired users, but allowing a normal interaction with an equipment that is not exclusively for people with disabilities. In this particular case the proposal was to create an iron and a benchtop electric oven. In this research, the general objective is not only to develop projects based on the inclusion of people with visual impairment, it also proposes that they can have access to the same products as other people, but also increase their well-being, by making products more pleasant and accessible to the accomplishment of chore
