Sikap Abstain Amerika Serikat Dalam Sidang Dewan Keamanan PBB Terkait Resolusi Nomor 2334

This research tries to explain the reason of U.S abstention on United Nations Security Council (UN SC) in 2016 discussed the issue of settlement Palestine-Israel. The stance of the United States as a superpower country makes it often to intervene and involve in global problems included Palestinian-Israeli conflict. The involvement and the implication of the U.S present affected the reconciliation process. The frequent of veto policy that used to defense its allied shows a difference in the UNSC Assembly on Resolution No. 2334. The U.S for the first time abstained and passed a draft resolution on the illegality of Jewish settlement construction. the purpose of this research is to explain the influence factors on the U.S abstention in the UNSC assembly. This research is an explanative-qualitative research using concept Determinant of Foreign Policy as a tool to analysis. The results of this study portray that there are two main factors influenced on U.S policy. The first factor is the global factor, focusing on international pressure on U.S involvement as a mediator country in the conflict. The second factor was influenced by the leverage of President Barack Obama’s policy on the restoring the country's reputation
