Ehrlich, née Gottesman, economist, age 96, died March 11, 2015, at a hospital near her Manhattan home. Edna started her 43-year career with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York in 1944 and became the second woman ever to serve as Research Officer, Senior Economist and International Advisor. Upon her retirement in 1987, she became an international consultant on Asian banking and financial systems and founded a nonprofit to support performances of contemporary Asian classical music. She published many articles in professional journals and traveled extensively, particularly in Asia, where she spoke at numerous conferences. Edna received a BA cum laude from Brooklyn College in 1943, a MA in economics from Columbia University in 1945 and a PhD in economics from the New School for Social Research in 1960.
