<p>Bone marrow derived-macrophages were incubated with ferric ammonium citrate (FAC, 0, 50 or 100 μM) for 16 hours followed by LPS stimulation (10 ng/mL). <i>Hepcidin 1</i> (<i>Hamp1</i>) and <i>ferroportin</i> (<i>Fpn</i>) mRNA expression were determined after 4 h (<i>Fpn</i>) or 12 h (<i>Hamp1</i>) using quantitative PCR analysis. Data are presented as fold change gene expression relative to the expression in untreated cells.
