Based on the increase of use motor vehicles in Laweyan Sub-district Surakarta City gives a big impact on the emergence of pollution. To make measurements on air quality takes time and costs are very expensive. There is alternative measurements by using a life indicator called a bioindicator. Lichen is an organism that has been used as bioindicator of air quality. This study aims to determine of lichen as a bioindicator of air pollution in Laweyan Sub-district, Surakarta. The method used was explorative technique. The sample using purposive sampling technique. Sampling location in three stations were Adi Sucipto Street, Ahmad Yani Street, and Dr Radjiman Street.
