MWWC Patio, Abplanalp Library, Westbrook College, 1993

The Maine Women Writers Collection wing at the back corner of Westbrook College\u27s Abplanalp Library features white trellis work, Greek columns and a white pergola. Carved into the lintels just above the trellis work are the names of Maine women writers represented within the Collection. Visible in this view of the pergola and trellis are four names: Thaxter (Celia Thaxter, 1835-1894), Beyer (Audrey White Beyer, 1916-1985), Millay (Edna St. Vincent Millay, 1892-1950), and Wood (Sally Sayward Barrell Keating Wood-Madame Wood, 1759-1855).https://dune.une.edu/wchc_photos_abplanalp/1030/thumbnail.jp
