The development of tourism in the Republic of Ireland : aspects and factors. If one considers the usual factors of international tourism, Ireland suffers from two main handicaps : climate and costs. But is has other assets : landscapes, a reputation of hospitality, a tradition of emigra¬ tion. This paper shows the recent trends and patterns of Irish tourism in general and in relation with the origin of the visitors.
