Some questions about writing in science : a Personal view from Britain. Clive Sutton, Leicester University School of Education. Four questions are presented about the purposes of writing in science, and the forms that it can takes. In a commentory on these questions, related to the British context, I attempt to show that beliefs about written language can carry unexamined assumptions about science as an human activity.
