Effets spatiaux de la croissance économique à Barcelone

Barcelona : the economic growth and the shaping of a metropolitan district. — Three millions inhabitants live nowadays within the area of the Greater Barcelona : they represent 15 % of the population in Spain. But the urban area covers only 6 % of the state's surface. The importance of this agglomeration comes from its national and cultural role, its industrial activities and the weight of foreign investments. The urban growth called for a first town planning scheme (1953) and later on for the definition of a metropolitan district of Barcelona (1966). Many contradictions and conflicts appeared though the creation of a new business district, the redistribution of industrial activities, the population increase in the residential suburbs and the extension of the urban area towards the Vallès ; they favored many interventions of the Spanish state in the management of the town ; but they favored also the awakening of political consciousness amongst the working class. The local capitalists had extended the range of their business to the rest of Spain ; they presently are by-passed by the transnational companies. Nevertheless these various steps of the economic growth can still be described though the successive changes of the urban space.Le « Grand Barcelone » regroupe 3 000 000 d'habitants : 15 % de la population de l'Espagne sur 6 % du territoire national ; son poids repose sur le pôle industriel, le rôle ethnoculturel, l'ampleur des investissements étrangers. Cela se traduit par un certain nombre de mutations spatiales jalonnées par un premier plan d'aménagement (1953), et la naissance de la notion d'aire métropolitaine (1966). La mise en place d'un nouveau centre d'affaires, la déconcentration de l'industrie, la densification des banlieues résidentielles, la conquête du Vallès accroissent contradictions et conflits, favorisent l'intervention de l'État, amènent une prise de conscience des travailleurs. Les transformations de l'espace urbain traduisent les phases successives de la croissance et les interventions des différents acteurs : capitalisme catalan, élargi au niveau national, dépassé par les firmes multinationales.Creixença urbana i mutacions espacials a Barcelona. — « La grand Barcelona » aplega a 3 000 000 d'habitants : 15 % de la poblado espanyola sobre 6 % del teritori nacional ; el seu pes descansa sobre el pol industrial, el rol etnocultural, la importancia de las inversions estrangeres. Aixô es tradueix per una certa quantitat de mutacions espacials escalonades per un primer pía d'urbanisme (1953) i la neixança de la noció d'àrea metropolitana (1966). La colocado d'un nou centre de negocis, la decentralització de la industria, l'augment deis barris residenciáis, la conquesta del Vallès augmentent contradiccións i conflictes, duen a una presa de conciencia deis treballadors.
