Jean-Pierre Adam, "A public fountain in Bavay" The discovery in Bavay (Nord) of a public fountain of the Augustan period, commonplace as it seems, is a rather exceptional achievement. Though certainly widely scattered, these modest structures, easy to break up and remove (the reservoir was made of four erected slabs), have almost always disappeared. It was lucky to find in this northern province of the Empire, a monument corresponding to the models preserved in the cities of Campagna and particularly in Pompei.
