Over the course of the last forty years, a progressive epistemological convergence has occurred between geomorphology and rural geography. After a long period of separate conceptualization, these subfields have increasingly broadened their objects of study. Thus, geomorphologists now meet rural geographers to the extent that they integrate humans as managers of rural space in their «anthropic geosystems». For their part, rural geographers seek to emphasize ecological and geomorphological elements in a global dynamic of humanized spaces where these element often command attention in the framework of sharp bioclimatic crises in heavy impacted rural territories.
