In this paper we try to show that the alexandrian epic of Apollonius was still a kind of novel on account of one of its heros, Jason, who is in contrast with the other Argonauts and particularly with Herakles. Jason is introducing in the epic narrative a new element which is challenging the tradition of epic and which is suggesting new tendencies from heroism to eroticism.
