An analysis of stories of conversion to Celestial Christianity in Benin shows how, beyond the diversity of particular biographical itineraries, the speaker, while having been banally introduced among Celestial Christians by a close kinsperson or friend, presents his/herself as the miraculous hero of a combat against the forces of evil. Extraordinary events punctuate his/her search, recalling canonical episodes of the bible or of the founding prophet's life.
