For nearly fifty years, the Baptist Missionary Society of London sent preachers and teachers there. Although much is known today about this epoch, some gray areas remain regarding the beginnings of the apostolate: the ideals held by preachers, how they viewed local populations, as well as how apologetic theses were received.
