SUMMARY Until 1965, there were very few Yugoslavian workers in foreign countries. Their number is now estimated at 900 000, one third of them coming from Croatia. More than 60 % of these migrants work in West Germany (especially in Baden-Wurtenberg) and 12,3 % in Austria. In France there are 70 000 Yugoslavian workers who are usually less qualified than those who migrate to other countries. Most of them work in the primary metal industries, in Paris and in the Doubs « département ». There is a high proportion of Serbians among them.
