Two crania from 'Ain Ghazal exhibit evidence of modeling as well as "cutmarks " or "scratches. " Striations on one cranium have been misinterpreted : the marks are a result of Neolithic sanding, not defleshing. Further study of the marks on the second cranium is needed before can be interpreted.
