A cranium with its two first cervical vertebrae were discovered in 1975 in the Grotte du Quéroy (Chazelles, Charente), in a middle Bronze Age deposit. The conclusion of the anthropological study then made was that the head had been removed from a corpse in a state of decomposition. A new analysis of the bone pieces allowed us to discover a set of artificial marks of human origin which indicates that the head was actually cut.
