NDFF Nature and Landscape Grant Scheme (SNL)

Provincial authorities award grants for the development and management of the National Ecological Network (NEN): the Nature and Landscape Grant Scheme. This grant scheme aims to preserve and improve the quality of nature and landscapes in the Netherlands. The execution of nature policy and management also needs to be monitored to establish whether aims are met, or possibly need to be revised. A number of quality indicators are selected for each management type. These qualifying species are the basis for determining the quality of the management type. The protocol covers the evaluation and assessment of the quality of nature types within the grant scheme. This protocol is mostly used to monitor vascular plants, butterflies, birds, some species of other families and any Red List species that occur.
