Mallé (Marie-Pascale). — Cellars and wine-presses in the upper valley of the Durance river. From the Middle Ages until the beginning of the 20th century the upper valley of the Durance has been proud of its vineyard which spread uphill as far as Saint-Martin-de-Queyrières and the entrance of Vallouise Valley. The interest for this vineyard lies more with its géographie situation, on the border zone of high mountains where the cultivation of wine-grapes was impossible, than with its production quality. That is also the reason why it has only partially been replan-ted after the phylloxéra crisis in 1908-1910.
