Philibert Boudin and François Baranjon, Louis XIV’s apothecaries allied to Jehan Poisson, apothecary to the King, native of Angers – This article is devoted to the biographical study of two of Louis XIV ’ s apothecaries, Philibert Boudin and François Baranjon, who were both born and lived in Paris, the former in rue Saint-Thomas-du-Louvre, and the latter in rue de l’Arbre-sec. They were thus neighbours and became good friends. Philibert Boudin held the office of apothecary to the King, the Dauphin, and his children, including the Duc d’Anjou, the future Louis XV, and at the end of his long life he was appointed secretary to the King. He amassed a sizeable fortune. In 1662, he married Marie Bizière, niece of the King’s apothecary, Jehan Poisson, who came from the Anjou region. Philibert died in 1712. François Baranjon held the office of apothecary to Louis XIII and Louis XIV . He married Marie Legangneulx in 1620. Their daughter, Marie-Magdeleine married the apothecary Jehan Poisson under remarkable conditions, as their marriage contract was signed by the young King Louis XIV , the Queen Regent Anne of Austria, and Cardinal Mazarin. François Baranjon probably died in 1666. The main person linking these lines of apothecaries is Jehan Poisson, apothecary of the King, whose forebears in Anjou and descendants in Paris included many apothecaries, through collateral alliances with the families of the Parisian apothecaries Philibert Boudin and François Baranjon.Cet article est consacré à l’étude biographique de deux apothicaires de Louis XIV , Philibert Boudin et François Baranjon, nés et demeurant à Paris, le premier rue Saint-Thomas-du-Louvre, le second rue de l’Arbre-sec. Ils furent donc voisins et se lièrent d’amitié. Philibert Boudin cumula les charges d’apothicaire au service du roi, du dauphin et de ses enfants, dont le duc d’Anjou, futur Louis XV, et il acquit à la fin de sa longue vie l’office de secrétaire du roi. Il amassa une belle fortune. En 1662, il épousa Marie Bizière, nièce de l’apothicaire du roi d’origine angevine, Jehan Poisson. Philibert Boudin décéda en 1712. François Baranjon fit provision de charges d’apothicaire des rois Louis XIII et Louis XIV . Il se maria avec Marie Legangneulx en 1620. Leur fille Marie-Magdeleine s’unit à l’apothicaire Jehan P oisson dans des conditions exceptionnelles, puisque le contrat de mariage fut signé par le jeune roi Louis XIV , Anne d’Autriche, reine régente, et le cardinal Mazarin. François Baranjon mourut probablement en 1666. L’apothicaire du roi Jehan Poisson dont l’ascendance en terre angevine et la descendance parisienne comptent de nombreux apothicaires, en créant des liaisons collatérales avec les familles des apothicaires parisiens Philibert Boudin et François Baranjon, est le véritable pivot de ces lignées d’apothicaires.Warolin Christian.
