the article deals with the problem of comic discourse in the collection of Mordovian fairy tales by S.V. Anikin. The authors shows the similarities of the Russian realistic tradition and the transformation of the folklore, analyzes the main means of creating a comic effect in the fairy tales and discovers the elements of the popular comic culture
